Michelle Blair will direct Julian Woolford’s BlueBirds, to run August 17 – September 4 at the target=_>Above the Stag Theatre. Steven Harris will choreograph the production, which will have musical direction by David Barber.
The show, devised by Woolford with Martin Waddington, centers on a group of performers who defy the dangers of the Blitz to keep their song and dance show running. Among the period songs included in the show are “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Accentuate The Positive,” “Every Time We Say Goodbye,” and “White Cliffs Of Dover,” among others.
Blair has previously directed Razzle Dazzle at the Hackney Empire and Night of Nights at Richmond Theatre. As a performer, Blair has appeared in Into the Woods, Dr. Dolittle, Snoopy the Musical, and Carmen The Opera.
