British stage and television star Michael Pennington will replace the previously announced Bruce Myers in the U.S. premiere of Peter Brook’s C.I.T.C. – Love is my sin, part of the Ringling International Arts Festival, to be presented by the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in association with the Baryshnikov Arts Center in Sarasota, Florida, October 7-11.

Myers is unavailable during the festival’s run, necessitating the cast change. The production will continue to co-star Natasha Parry. The piece uses Shakespeare’s sonnets as a key to his passions and private questions about time, aging, and death.

As previously announced, the festival will kick off with a concert led by renowned conductor Robert Spano. Theater highlights will also include Elevator Repair Service’s The Sun Also Rises, First Part, a workshop premiere that interprets Hemingway’s classic novel and Ella Hickson’s debut play Eight, which delivers a portrait of modern Britain through a collection of monologues ranging from a single working mother to a young Iraq veteran.

Dance programming will include Deganit Shemy & Company, Aszure Barton & Artists, OtherShore, and Compañia María Pagés. Singer Meow Meow will perform Beyond Glamour: The Absinthe Tour, while the festival will include a chamber music component featuring pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, violinist Jennifer Frautschi, cellist Edward Arron, and French horn player Eric Ruske.
