Lyric Stage Company Continues Season With Jonathan Tolins' Buyer & Cellar

Buyer & Cellar begins performances at Lyric Stage Company tonight.

Alex More is an out-of-work actor in L.A., who lands a dream job. He’s the sole employee of the "Great Mall of Malibu," otherwise known as Barbra Streisand’s treasure-filled basement. Alternately funny and poignant the show features one actor playing all of the play's diverse roles.

Jonathan Tolins’ play, directed by Courtney O’Conor, stars Phil Tayler playing the main character, Alex More, as well as Oprah Winfrey, James Brolin, Bea Arthur, an imperious estate manager, and Barbra Streisand.

The creative team includes Anthony R. Phelps (set design), Rafael Jaen (costume design), Chris Bruberg (lighting design), and David Remedios (sound design).

Performances will run through January 3.
