Rattlestick Playwrights Theater’s production of The Hill Town Plays, a five-play cycle by Lucy Thurber, officially opened on September 5. The five plays — Scarcity, Ashville, Where We’re Born, Killers and Other Family, and Stay — are being produced simultaneously at five different West Village theaters: Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Cherry Lane Theatre, The Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre, Axis Theatre, and New Ohio Theatre. The plays make up this year’s Theater:Village festival, an annual theatrical event that showcases plays centered around one playwright or theme, and stages them at different West Village venues.
