The Gallery Players announces its new season.
Brooklyn's Gallery Players has announced its 49th season, under the artistic direction of newly named leader Mark Harborth.
The season opens September 12 with the Stephen Schwartz/John-Michael Tebelak musical Godspell, followed October 24 by August Wilson's 1990 Pulitzer Prize winner, The Piano Lesson.
A holiday season run of Ray Cooney's It Runs in the Family will be followed by the Lynn Ahrens-Stephen Flaherty-Terrence McNally musical Seussical, starting January 30. Dale Wasserman's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest will take the stage beginning March 12, with the final production of the season being Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes' Tony-winning musical In the Heights, starting April 23.
The Gallery Players will also present its 19th annual Black Box New Play Festival, kicking off June 2. The festival will premiere new one-act and full length plays by local playwrights.
