Tony and Emmy Award winner Leslie Uggams will play the role of Fauna in the New York City Encores! production of Pipe Dream, to run March 28-April 1.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1955 musical will be directed by Marc Bruni with music direction by Rob Berman and choreography by Kelli Barclay. It centers on the romance between Doc, a marine biologist, and Suzy, a young woman who hitchhikes into town looking for a better life.
As previously reported, the cast will also include Will Chase (Doc), James Clow (Ray), James Moye (Jim), Laura Osnes (Suzy), Steve Routman (George), Stephen Wallem (Hazel), and Tom Wopat (Mac).
