Lin-Manuel Miranda’s much-anticipated musical opens at the Public Theater on February 17.
Following last night’s first preview of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton at the Public Theater, the company celebrated with an after-party at the Public’s Library Bar. Guests at the event, hosted by TodayTix, included Broadway favorites Skylar Astin, Laura Osnes, Benj Pasek, Barrett Weed, and more.
Miranda takes on the title role in his new musical, which is inspired by Ron Chernow's book Alexander Hamilton. Thomas Kail directs. The cast also includes Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Brian d'Arcy James (King George), Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton), Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr), Daveed Diggs (Marquis De Lafayette, Thomas Jefferson), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens, Phillip Hamilton), Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan, James Madison), and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Shuyler, Maria Reynolds).
Hamilton features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, sound design by Nevin Steinberg, music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler.
