La MaMa E.T.C. has announced plans to present the world premiere of the Meta-Phys Ed. production of Jew Vs. Malta. Conceived and directed by Jesse Freedman, the piece is set to run October 28-November 6.

Jew Vs. Malta is described as "a raucous new chop and screw theater piece about monstrosity and virtuosity, fueled by pantagruelism and peppered with puppetry and dance." It is based on Christopher Marlowe's "problematic and provocative play" The Jew of Malta as well as the political theater of Bertolt Brecht and Kanye West’s album Yeezus.

The cast of Jew Vs. Malta features Youn Jung Kim, Rakia Seaborn, and David North.

The production features lighting design by Jennifer Reiser, costume design by Karen Boyer, scenic design/props by Ali Shrago-Spechler, and sound design by Avi Amon.
