Olivier Award winner Kristin Scott Thomas will emcee the 63rd Cannes Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will open the festival on May 12, welcoming Tim Burton and his jury, and will also return for the festival’s closing night of May 23.
Thomas won an Olivier Award for her performance in The Seagull, which she also reprised on Broadway. She received an Oscar nomination for The English Patient and recently starred in Nowhere Boy. Her other film credits include I’ve Loved You So Long, Tell No One, Gosford Park, and The Horse Whisperer.
