The Lyric Stage Company of Boston has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Terrence McNally's Kiss of the Spider Woman, running from August 31-October 7. Rachel Bertone directs and choreographs.

Winner of the 1993 Tony Award for Best Musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman "revamps a harrowing tale of persecution into a dazzling spectacle that juxtaposes gritty realities with liberating fantasies. Cellmates in a Latin American prison, Valentin is a tough Argentine revolutionary and Molina is an unapologetic homosexual serving eight years for deviant behavior. Molina escapes from the terrifying reality of prison life by sharing his fantasies about a mysterious 1940s movie star who takes on the role of a Spider Woman who can kill with a kiss."

The cast will feature Eddy Cavazos (Molina), Taavon Gamble (Valentin), Lisa Yuen (Spider Woman, Aurora), Luis Negron (Warden), Johanna Carlisle-Zepeda (Molina's Mother), Katrina Zofia (Marta), Diego Klock-Pérez (Estaban), Davron S. Monroe (Marcos), Ricardo Holguin (Gabriel, Ensemble), Arthur Cuadros (Emilio, Ensemble), and ensemble members Bernie Baldassaro, Arthur Gomez, Felton Sparks, and Lance-Patrick Strickland.

The creative team includes music director Dan Rodgriguez, scenic designer Janie E. Howland, costume designer Marian Bertone, lighting designer Franklin Meissner Jr., sound designer Andrew Duncan Will, and projection designer Johnathan Carr.
