Broadway veteran and screen star Kevin Bacon will join Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Julianne Moore in an as-yet-untitled movie, according to a report in Variety. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra will direct the film, which is slated to begin shooting later this month.
The story centers on Carell, whose wife (Moore) wants a divorce. To salvage their marriage, he uses a slick life coach (Gosling) to reform him. Bacon will play a co-worker of Moore’s, who begins an affair with her. The company will also feature Emma Stone.
Bacon’s stage credits include Slab Boys and An Almost Holy Picture on Broadway and Spike Heels, Road, and Loot Off-Broadway. He won a SAG Award earlier this year for HBO’s Taking Change. Among his other screen appearances are Footloose, Apollo 13 and the upcoming Elephant White.
