Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Kerstin Anderson will play Eliza Doolittle at all Sunday matinee performances of My Fair Lady beginning Sunday, July 8. Anderson most recently starred as Maria in the Jack O'Brien-directed national touring production of The Sound of Music. Lauren Ambrose will continue in the role seven performances a week.
Directed by Bartlett Sher, the Broadway production also stars Harry Hadden-Paton (Henry Higgins), Norbert Leo Butz (Alfred P. Doolittle), and Diana Rigg (Mrs. Higgins). Allan Corduner plays Colonel Pickering, Jordan Donica plays Freddy Eynsford-Hill, and Linda Mugleston plays Mrs. Pearce.
Adapted from George Bernard Shaw's play and Gabriel Pascal's motion picture Pygmalion, My Fair Lady, with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, premiered on Broadway on March 15, 1956. The new revival features choreography by Christopher Gattelli, with sets by Michael Yeargan, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Donald Holder, and sound by Marc Salzberg.
