Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced that its currently running world-premiere production of Keith Josef Adkins' Pitbulls will extend one week through December 20 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Directed by Leah Gardiner, the run was originally slated to end on December 13.

The new play takes place in a small black community in rural Appalachia, Pitbull country, where Mary and her son Dipper live in a trailer a few miles from their bible-belt, dog-fighting neighbors. Despite Mary's peaceful existence, when a prize-winning pit bull is slaughtered on the Fourth of July, she becomes suspect.

The cast of Pitbulls features Yvette Ganier, Nathan Hinton, Billy Eugene Jones, Donna Duplantier, and Maurice Williams.
