Kathleen Marshall and Rob Marshall to Be Honored by the New York Pops

The Pops will pay tribute to the Broadway siblings and their many musicals.

Broadway siblings Kathleen Marshall and Rob Marshall will be honored by the New York Pops at its 32nd Birthday Gala on May 4, 2015, at Carnegie Hall. Conductor Steven Reineke presides over the orchestra for the evening, which also includes a black-tie dinner and dance at the Mandarin Oriental New York. Performers will be announced in the coming months.

Kathleen Marshall received Tony Awards for her choreography of the Broadway revivals Wonderful Town, Anything Goes, and The Pajama Game, along with an additional six nominations for her work on Nice Work If You Can Get It and Kiss Me, Kate, among many others. She has also directed and choreographed film adaptations of The Music Man and Once Upon a Mattress, as well as the musical sequences for the film My Week With Marilyn.

Rob Marshall's films have won nine Academy Awards out of 23 nominations. He is the director of the upcoming screen adaptation of Into the Woods, as well as the big-screen versions of Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha. Onstage, he received six Tony nominations for his work on productions of Little Me, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Damn Yankees, She Loves Me, and Cabaret.

The New York Pops honored Tony-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman at their 2014 gala.
