Kate Baldwin to Lead What the Constitution Means to Me in the Berkshires

Two-time Tony nominee Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!) will star in Heidi Schreck’s What the Constitution Means to Me this spring in a co-production with WAM Theatre and Berkshire Theatre Group. Performances will run from May 18-June 3 at Berkshire Theatre Group’s Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

What the Constitution Means to Me is described as follows: “Fifteen-year-old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful, and achingly human play, Heidi resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives.”

Originally starring Schreck as herself, the play debuted on Broadway in 2019, earning Tony nominations for Best Play and Best Leading Actress in a Play (Schreck). It was also a 2019 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama, and debuted on the Amazon Prime streaming service in October 2020.

Kristen van Ginhoven will direct, and Jay Sefton will take on the role of the Legionnaire.
