The New York stage premiere of Matthew Libby’s play Data, directed by Tyne Rafaeli (Becoming Eve) will run January 9, 2026-March 29, 2026, with an official opening on January 25 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

Karan Brar (Jessie) reprises his role as Maneesh from the Arena Stage production, alongside Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why) as Jonah, Sophia Lillis (It) as Riley, and Justin H. Min (The Umbrella Academy) as Alex.

Libby’s suspenseful thriller pulls back the curtain on Silicon Valley’s darkest ambitions. When a brilliant young programmer learns his own algorithm is the key to a massive AI surveillance project, he’s forced to challenge the tech world he once dreamed of joining.

Data was produced as a digital play presented by the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta in 2021. Washington DC’s Arena Stage produced the play in 2024.

The creative team includes costume designer Enver Chakartash, set designer Marsha Ginsberg, original music and sound designer Daniel Kluger, and lighting designer Amith Chandrashaker.
