Julie Halston and Something Rotten!'s Brad Oscar Receive Equity Foundation Awards
The Actors’ Equity Foundation has announced that Julie Halston (You Can’t Take It With You) and Brad Oscar (Something Rotten!) are the recipients of the annual Richard Seff Award. Each year, the award is given to veteran female and male character actors for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or off-Broadway production. The presentation of a check and crystal trophy will take place at Equity’s Eastern Regional Board meeting on June 9.
Julie Halston, who is Drama Desk-nominated for her role in this year's You Can't Take it With You has many Broadway credits, including Anything Goes, Hairspray, and Gypsy. Brad Oscar is the recipient of a Tony nomination for his work in The Producers, and this year, he is a Drama Desk nominee Something Rotten! Additional Broadway credits include Big Fish, Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Addams Family, and Spamalot.
The Judges’ Panel for the awards includes Joe Dziemianowicz, Daily News; Adam Feldman, Time Out New York; Susan Haskins-Doloff, Theater Talk; Harry Haun, Playbill, and David Rosenberg, The Hour Newspapers.
