The NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts has announced plans for its upcoming 2013-2014 10th-anniversary season, which will include one-off performances as well as multiple-night or multiple-week runs.
The season’s programming will also include Visions + Voices: China, a centerpiece of the season that will comprise many presentations by performance groups such as Tao Dance Theater and Hangzhou Yue Opera Company. The series will run February 20–May 12. Then, the critically acclaimed, Montreal-based Cirque Éloize will perform the NYC premiere of their show Cirkopolis, running December 18-January 5.
In addition, NYU Skirball continues its role as a host for the National Theatre Live series. Upcoming productions will include Othello, featuring Olivier Award-winning actors Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear; Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller in Frankenstein; and Coriolanus.
For the past 10 years, the Skirball Center, NYU’s first large-scale, professional performance space on campus, has offered a unique multi-arts performance program in its intimate proscenium theater located on the south of Washington Square in the heart of Greenwich Village.
