
The John W. Engeman Theater has announced casting for its production of Rapunzel – A Tangled Fairytale, to play weekend performances, February 12-March 27. Mark Adam Rampmeyer will direct, with musical direction by Anthony Didonna.
This musical retelling of the Brothers Grimm Fairytale features a possessive mother who happens to be a witch, a timid young man who happens to be a prince and a determined but immature young girl with the longest hair you’ve ever seen.
Four actors perform all 12 roles in the play: Christina Corsaro (Woman 1: Rapunzel, Cobbler’s Wife); Jennifer Collister-Tully (Woman 2: Witch, Wigmaker); Adam Moesbach (MAN 2: Storyteller, Simon the Valet, Innkeeper, Man with Mop, Castle Guard, King); Josh Rothberg (MAN 1: Prince Brian, Cobbler). In addition, Ally Antun serves as swing.
The creative team will incljde Sonoka Fukuma-Gozelski (set and props designer), Lauren Paragallo (costume designer), Michael Visco (lighting designer), and Katherine Miller (sound designer).
