The Donmar Warehouse has announced casting for Jack Thorne’s new version of Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s The Physicists, to run May 31 – July 21. Josie Rourke will direct the production.
The play centers on a home for the mentally ill where scientists Johann Mobius, Albert Einstein and Issac Newton are seemingly committed, and explores the question of whether or not insanity is the only refuge for the dangerously intelligent.
The company will feature Paul Bhattacharjee, Joanna Brookes, John Heffernan, John Ramm, Miranda Raison, Justin Salinger, and Sophie Thompson.
The creative team will include production designer Rob Jones, lighting designer Hugh Vanstone, and sound designer Emma Laxon, along with Michael Bruce who will provide original music.
