John Astin, best known as Gomez Addams on television’s The Addams Family, will appear in An Intimate Evening of Poetry and Conversation with Oscar-Nominated Director John Astin on October 24 at the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Sleepy Hollow, New York. The performance is presented by, and is a fundraising event for, the Visible Theatre.
Astin will present readings from works by Edgar Allan Poe and other literary figures and discuss his journey as an actor, director, father, and teacher. Astin has appeared on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera and additional television credits range from Night Court to Eerie, Indiana. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the Johns Hopkins University where he is Director of the Program in Theatre Arts & Studies and serves on the Visible Theatre’s advisory board.
