Jimmy Buffett, Renée Fleming, and More to Perform on PBS July 4th Celebration

The lineup of stars set to perform as part of the national Independence Day celebration A Capitol Fourth has been announced. The event, which will be hosted by Emmy Award-nominated actor and producer John Stamos, will honor America's 242nd birthday from the West Lawn of the US Capitol. The 38th annual broadcast of A Capitol Fourth will air on PBS on July 4, 8pm-9:30pm.

This year's event will feature performances by Jimmy Buffett and the Broadway cast of Escape to Margaritaville in their first stop after Broadway before launching a national tour; the Beach Boys, who will also be given A Capitol Fourth's National Artistic Achievement Award; Pentatonix; the Temptations; country singer-songwriter Luke Combs; country star and American Idol alumnus Lauren Alaina; CeCe Winans; and violinist Joshua Bell, with Jack Everly leading the National Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Renée Fleming, who is in the current Broadway revival of Carousel, will perform the "You'll Never Walk Alone" number from the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical as a tribute to US men and women in uniform.

Also participating in the event will be the Choral Arts Society of Washington, the US Army Band "Pershing's Own," the US Army Herald Trumpets, members of the Armed Forces carrying the state and territorial flags, and the Armed Forces Color Guard provided by the military district of Washington, DC.
