Eisenberg will star in the world premiere of his own play ”The Spoils”.
The New Group has announced the three productions that will run at the Pershing Square Signature Center during its 2014-15 20th-anniversary season. Special events at The New Group will be announced soon.
The first major New York revival of David Rabe's Sticks and Bones, directed by Scott Elliott, will kick off the season in the fall. Holly Hunter and Bill Pullman are set to star in this brutally funny play about an average American family torn apart by a son's return from the Vietnam War. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
In early 2015, The New Group will present the New York premiere of Joel Drake Johnson's Rasheeda Speaking. The play will be helmed by Tony-winning performer Cynthia Nixon in her directorial debut. Broadway favorite Dianne Wiest and Tony winner Tonya Pinkins will lead the cast as Ileen and Jaclyn, two women who have developed a bond in the six months they've worked together at the front desk of Dr. Williams' office.
The season's final offering will be the world premiere of The Spoils, a new play written by and featuring Jesse Eisenberg. The Spoils follows Ben, a young man who's been kicked out of grad school, lives off his parents' money, and bullies everyone in his life. Running in spring 2015, the play will feature direction by Scott Elliott, with casting still to be announced.
