Jeremy Jordan to Join NBC’s Smash

2012 Tony Award nominee and Theatre World Award winner Jeremy Jordan will join the cast of NBC’s Smash next season, according to TVLine.com.


The site reports he will play a sexy, straight Brooklyn-born singer with a self-destructive streak.


Jordan currently stars as Jack Kelly in the hit Broadway musical, Newsies, and will continue to appear in the show.


He also appeared last season as Clyde Barrow in the Broadway musical Bonnie & Clyde, He has also appeared on Broadway in West Side Story and Rock of Ages and in the film Joyful Noise.


Smash, which focuses on the making of a Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe, stars Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Megan Hilty, Katharine McPhee, Anjelica Huston, and 2012 Tony Award winner Christian Borle.
