Conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, the musical features a book & lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, music by Wildhorn, and is directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun.
Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages) plays the dual roles of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde with Deborah Cox (Aida) as Lucy, Teal Wicks (The Blue Flower) as Emma Carew, Laird Mackintosh (Mary Poppins) as John Utterson, and Richard White (Beauty and the Beast) as Sir Danvers Carew.
The show, based on the acclaimed novella The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, is about a London doctor who accidentally unleashes his evil alternate personality in his quest to cure his father’s mental illness.
The cast will also include David Benoit, Stephen Mitchell Brown, Jerry Christakos, Dana Costello, Wendy Fox, Brian Gallagher, Sean Jenness, Mel Johnson Jr., Miles Johnson, James Judy, Ashley Loren, Courtney Markowitz, Aaron Ramey, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Rob Richardson, Blair Ross, Doug Storm, Haley Swindal, and Jason Wooten.
The creative team includes scenic & costume design by Tony Award nominee Tobin Ost (Newsies), lighting design by Tony Award winner Jeff Croiter (Peter and the Starcatcher), sound design by Ken Travis (Newsies) and projection design by Daniel Brodie (Motown). Orchestrations are by Kim Scharnberg. Musical supervision and arrangements are by Jason Howland.
Jekyll & Hyde was previously slated to play the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
