Jason Robert Brown to Direct London Production of 13

Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown will direct a production of his Broadway musical 13, featuring members of England’s National Youth Music Theatre, according to Whatsonstage.com. The production will play the Apollo Theatre, August 22-25.


13, which has music and lyrics by Brown and book by Dan Elish, focuses on 13-year-old Evan Goldman as he moves from New York City to Indiana, and how the move conflicts with his Bar Mitzvah.


The site is also reporting that NYMT will stage Brown’s 1995 off-Broadway song cycle Songs for a New World, August 1-4, at a venue to be announced, The production, which will feature direction by Sarah Redmond and choreography by Cristian Valle, will be cast with performers ages 16 to 23, will run from 1 to 4 August with venue still to be confirmed.
