Casting has been announced for Goodspeed's upcoming production of Bye Bye Birdie, featuring a book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Lee Adams. The show is set to run from June 24-September 4 with an official press opening on July 13. Jenn Thompson directs, with musical direction by Michael O’Flaherty.
The cast will feature Janet Dacal (In the Heights) as Rosie, George Merrick (Honeymoon in Vegas) as Albert, Tristen Buettel as Kim, Alex Walton as Hugo, Donna English (Living on Love) as Mrs. MacAfee, Warren Kelley as Mr. MacAfee, Ben Stone-Zelman as Randolph, Rhett Guter as Conrad Birdie, Kristine Zbornik (A Catered Affair) as Mae Peterson, and
Dorcas Leung as Ursula.
The ensemble includes Paul Aguirre (Mayor), Emily Applebaum, Hannah Bradley, Lauren Fijol (Gloria), Jeremiah Ginn, and Kristen Hoagland as well as Michael James, Logan Scott Mitchell, Brittany Nicholas, Eddie Olmo II, Marci Reid, Jake Swain, and Branch Woodman. The swings will be Austen Danielle Bohmer and Michal Kolaczkowski. Tyler Manemeit will understudy the role of Randolph.
Choreography will be by Patricia Wilcox, with scenic design by Tobin Ost, and sound design by Jay Hilton.
