Atlantic Theater Company has announced a two-week extension for its upcoming world premiere production of Halley Feiffer's new comedy, I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard, directed by Trip Cullman. The play will now run through March 1 at Atlantic Stage 2, after opening on January 20. The run was initially scheduled to conclude on February 15.

The play follows Ella, a precocious and fiercely competitive actress whose sole aim in life is making her famous playwright father, David, proud. Over the course of a boozy, drug-fueled evening, Ella and David deliberate over whether to read the reviews of her off-Broadway debut — a choice that sends them into a downward spiral.

Tony nominee Reed Birney (Casa Valentina) and Betty Gilpin, who currently plays Dr. Carrie Roman in the Showtime series Nurse Jackie, will star as this dysfunctional father-daughter pair. Birney returns to the Atlantic where he last appeared in the world premiere of Adam Rapp’s Dreams of Flying Dreams of Falling. Gilpin's stage credits include Lucy Thurber's Where We’re Born, and the world premiere of Sam Shepard's Heartless at Signature Theatre.

The creative team will feature scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Ben Stanton, and sound design by Daniel Kluger.
