Hope Davis to Star in The Family Tree Movie

Hope Davis will star in the new movie The Family Tree, which will have a theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles on August 26, prior to distribution on home video, VOD, digital and television. Vivi Friedman has directed the film, which has a script by Mark Lisson.

The film focuses on what happens to the dysfunctional Burnett family after a freak accident leaves the clan’s matriarch (played by Davis) with amnesia. The cast also features Dermot Mulroney, Max Thieriot, Brittany Robertson and Chi McBride.

Davis received a Tony Award nomination for her work in God of Carnage on Broadway and recently reprised her performance in Los Angeles at the Ahmanson Theatre. Among her other stage credits are Ivanov and Two Shakespearean Actors on Broadway. In addition, she has appeared in such films as About Schmidt, Arlington Road, and The Weather Man and on such television series as In Treatment, Six Degrees, and Deadline.
