Jacobs will take on the role of Imelda Marcos in the David Byrne-Fatboy Slim musical.
Arielle Jacobs (Aladdin, Between the Lines) will play Imelda Marcos in the Broadway production of Here Lies Love at the newly renovated Broadway Theatre.
Jacobs joins as cast led by the previously announced Jose Llana as Ferdinand Marcos, Conrad Ricamora as Ninoy Aquino, and Lea Salonga as Aurora Aquino (July 11-August 13 only). Full casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
Developed and directed by Alex Timbers, with choreography by Annie-B Parson and additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, the show’s home at the Broadway Theatre will be transformed into a dance club where the audience is immersed in the story. Once again, the production will have sets by David Korins, costumes by Clint Ramos, lighting by Justin Townsend, sound by M.L. Dogg and Cody Spencer, and projections by Peter Nigrini.
Here Lies Love will begin previews on June 17 and is set to open on July 20.
