New York City
The show will come back to the Big Apple after becoming a long-running hit in London.
It looks like a New York City revival of Heathers the Musical is in the works for 2025 — at least, according to the show’s website.
No dates, cast, or any other information is provided, just a landing page to sign up for eventual details. The show’s social media platforms are also teasing the forthcoming engagement.
The WhatsOnStage Award-winning musical features a book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, and is based on the 1989 cult film of the same name, starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater.
We expect this New York mounting would be based on the long-running and successful West End staging, with direction by Andy Fickman, choreography by Gary Lloyd, sets and costumes by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, and sound by David Samson.
Between 2018 and 2024, Heathers debuted at London’s Other Palace and transferred to the Theatre Royal Haymarket, before running again at the Other Palace and later @sohoplace, and embarking on three European tours.
Heathers was first seen in Los Angeles in 2013, and it played a short off-Broadway run in 2014, also under FIckman’s direction. Among the original New York cast were Barrett Wilbert Weed, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Ryan McCartan, and Anthony Crivello.
