Danya Taymor directs the New York premiere of Antoinette Nwandu’s play.
Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3 production of Pass Over has begun rehearsals ahead of performances set to begin June 2. The New York premiere of Antoinette Nwandu's play runs at the Claire Tow Theater through July 15 under the direction of Danya Taymor. Opening night is set for June 18.
In Pass Over, Moses and Kitch stand around on the corner — talking smack, passing the time, and hoping that today a miracle will come. A provocative mashup of Waiting for Godot and the Exodus saga, Pass Over exposes the unquestionable human spirit of young black men who dream about a promised land they've yet to find.
Pass Over stars Gabriel Ebert (Time and the Conways), Jon Michael Hill (Elementary) and Namir Smallwood (Pipeline). The creative team includes sets by Wilson Chin, costumes by Sarafina Bush, lighting by Marcus Doshi, and sound by Justin Ellington.
The world premiere of Pass Over was presented at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre last summer.
