The classic musical comedy kicks of the 2015 season tonight.
Guys and Dolls begins its run at Goodspeed Musicals – East Haddam tonight. The classic story follows some of Times Square’s most eccentric characters in this new staging of the classic musical. Nathan has limited funds and limited time to find a new gambling venue. Sky Masterson has his solution with the bet of a lifetime. If Sky can manage to convince a Save-a-Soul mission worker to come with him to Havana, he wins the bet. However, he might fall in love along the way.
Directed Don Stephenson and choreographed by Alex Sanchez, the musical features Anthony Roach as Sky Masterson, Nancy Anderson as Miss Adelaide, Manna Nichols as Sarah Brown, Mark Price as Nathan Detroit, Scott Cote as Nicely-Nicely Johson, Jerry Gallagher as Big Jule, David Sitler as Lt. Brannigan, John Jellison as Arvide Abernathy, Noah Plomgren as Benny Southstreet, and Karen Murphy as General Matilda Cartwright.
The creative team includes Paul Tate dePoo III (set design), Tracy Christensen (costume design), Stephen Terry (lighting design), Jay Hilton (sound design), Dan DeLange (orchestrations), Michael O’Flaherty (music director), and William J. Thomas (assistant music director).
