Full casting has been announced for Menier Chocolate Factory‘s production of Torch Song Trilogy, to run May 30-August 12. Douglas Hodge will direct.
This comedy-drama, which won the 1983 Tony and Drama Desk awards for Best Play, was originally conceived and performed in three acts. It centers on drag queen Arnold, who encounters passion, thrills, love and loss.
As previously reported, David Bedella will star as Arnold Beckoff, with Sara Kestelman as his mother, Mrs. Beckoff. The company will also feature Joe McFadden as Ed, Tom Harries as Alan, Perry Millward as David and Laura Pyper as Laurel.
The production will be designed by Soutra Gilmour, with lighting by Paul Anderson, sound by Gareth Owen, and musical supervision by Catherine Jayes.
