Full cast and creative team information has been announced for American Theater Company’s Midwest premiere of Stephen Karam’s Speech & Debate, to run April 16-May 11, with an opening set for April 20. ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli will direct.
Speech & Debate concerns three teenage misfits in Salem, Oregon, who reluctantly form their school’s first speech and debate team after discovering they are all linked by a sex scandal at their school. The cast will feature Stephen Grush (Solomon), Patrick Andrews (Howie), Sadieh Rifai (Diwata) and Cheryl Graeff (Teacher/Reporter).
The creative team will include Keith Pitts (set design), Myron Elliott (costumes), Charles Cooper (lighting design), and Lindsay Jones & Scotty Iseri (sound design) with video installations by Marty Higginbotham & Bobby Richards.
