Stephen Bienskie, Natalie Joy Johnson, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Anika Larsen, Michael McEachran, and Nicole Ruth Snelson will star in the Off-Broadway production of Jonathan Karp and Seth Weinstein’s new musical How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes, which will begin performances on November 4 at New World Stages. The production, to be directed and choreographed by two-time Lucille Lortel Award winner Christopher Gattelli, will open officially on November 12.

The show, which was previously seen at the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival, concerns an office romance between a U.N. bookshop clerk (McEachran) and a sensuous diplomat (Snelson) that leads to an international crisis. Karp, who wrote the book and lyrics, is one of the world’s leading book publishers and currently the editor-in-chief of TWELVE, a soon-to-launch imprint of Hachette Book Group. Weinstein, who wrote the music, has been the musical director of numerous regional productions and cabaret shows. The pair have also collaborated on the musical Heart Throb.

The show’s design team will include Beowulf Borritt (sets), David Murrin (costumes), Jeff Crotier (lighting), and Peter Hylenski (sound). Gattelli is currently represented on Broadway by Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me and is the choreographer for the Broadway-bound musical High Fidelity, which opens next month in Boston, and the possible Broadway transfer of the London production of Sunday in the Park with George. He received Lortel awards for his work on Altar Boyz and Bat Boy: The Musical.
