The full cast and creative team have been announced for Penumbra Theatre Company’s production of Fences by August Wilson, which will play the University of Saint Thomas, August 21-September 21.
Set in 1957, Fences tells the story of Troy Maxon, a baseball player whose prime came before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier. The cast will star James A. Williams as Troy Maxon alongside James T. Alfred as Cory, James Craven as Gabriel, Marion McClinton as Jim Bono, Elayn J. Taylor as Rose, Kevin D. West as Lyons, and Marianna McGee and Mahogany Ellis (sharing the role of Raynell).
The creative team will include C. Lance Brockman (set design), Don Darnutzer (lighting design), Martin Gwinup (sound design), and Mathew J. LeFebvre (costume design).
