The Motown superstars’ new biomusical, ”Ain’t Too Proud”, opened last night at the Imperial Theatre.
Following last night's opening of Ain't Too Proud at the Imperial Theatre, the Temptations are the latest music sensations to join the Broadway biomusical ranks — although you could say they were already part of that elite crowd, having made a few memorable cameos in Motown the Musical, which opened on Broadway in 2013.
The Temptations weren't the center of that story, but if you were a fan of Motown the Musical and are planning a field trip to Ain't Too Proud, "get ready" to see a bunch of familiar faces from the Motown galaxy, from Diana Ross to Smokey Robinson to the man himself, Berry Gordy. To refresh your memory, we're flashing back to the official Broadway trailer for Motown — which, if you didn't already recall, starred two-time Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon before he became the savior of live televised musicals.
Time flies but Motown is forever (on Broadway).
