We all know that recent Drama Desk Award winner and two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes got her big break on NBC’s talent competition show Grease: You’re The One That I Want! But ever wonder what she was doing before reality television made her Broadway’s sweetheart? Apparently, she was being just as adorable…but with a much heavier Minnesota accent.

Here you can see her featured on Minnesota’s local Your Town News when, with Minneapolis’ Children’s Theatre Company, she had the starring role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz (of course she did). Make sure to watch to the end to hear the cherubic Osnes talk about her pre-Grease dreams of someday making it to that “Land of Oz called Broadway.” Maybe we should all start wishing on New York City snow globes, because that dream sure came true.
