A year ago today, The Band's Visit made its highly anticipated Broadway premiere, with David Yazbek and Itamar Moses's musical adaptation of Eran Kolirin's 2007 film officially opening at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. For this week's Flashback Friday, look back on the opening-night festivities, where we tasked guests like Josh Groban with asking questions of stars including Tony winners Katrina Lenk and Tony Shalhoub.

Based on the screenplay by Eran Kolirin, The Band's Visit features music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses. The story is described as follows: "After a mix-up at the border, an Egyptian Police Band is sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways."

Winner of 10 Tony Awards, the production is directed by David Cromer.
