Dean Jones, the original Bobby in Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical Company, died earlier this week at the age of 84. He stayed with the production for only a few weeks, but his powerful rendition of the classic ballad "Being Alive" has been immortalized on the original Broadway cast album. Recorded in 1970, the historic session was captured for the documentary film Original Cast Album: Company. So in honor of Jones and his contribution to the Broadway canon, we're flashing back 45 years to the recording booth where it all began.
