The new documentary film traces the career of the veteran stage actress.
She's the Best Thing in It, a new documentary by Oscar-nominated screenwriter and director Ron Nywaner (Philadelphia, The Painted Veil), explores the craft of acting and career success through the lens of Tony Award-winning actress Mary Louise Wilson (Grey Gardens, On the Twentieth Century). The film includes additional interviews with several of Wilson's fellow character actors including Frances McDormand, Melissa Leo, Tyne Daly, Estelle Parsons, Valeria Harper, Charlotte Rae, Lisa Joyce, Mary Birdsong, and Doug Wright.
The documentary will be available on demand on February 23, but to preview the fiilm, TheaterMania has been given an exclusive sneak peek at the chapter in which Wilson recounts her 2007 Tony win. She earned the award for her performance as Edith Bouvier Beale in Grey Gardens, and as she tells the world, it was a long time coming.
