New York City
The TV and big-screen icon will return to the stage in a new jukebox musical inspired by the tune of rock-and-roll band the Champs.
A week after the release of his film Pee-wee's Big Holiday, iconic television star Pee-wee Herman will make his Broadway return in the new musical ¡Tequila! The first-ever one-song jukebox musical will feature the greatest hit of the Champs, the rock-and-roll band behind the legendary tune from which the show takes its title. There hasn't been a mounting yet, but we anticipate the running time to be approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.

APRIL FOOLS!
Sorry to disappoint, but Herman is not making a stage return (that we know about) and a three-act, one-song, Champs-themed jukebox musical called ¡Tequila! would probably drive audiences to drink an entire handle of the aforementioned beverage. But we hope that Herman, who last appeared on Broadway in a 2010 stage version of The Pee-Wee Herman Show will parlay his renewed popularity into making our ¡Tequila! dreams come true.
