Ettinger, Hilferty, Katz, Louizos, et al. to Speak at New York Public Library

A discussion series and a film series have been announced in conjunction with Curtain Call: Celebrating a Century of Women Designing for Live Performance, on view at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts through May 2.

On Monday, January 12 at 6pm, noted costume designer Susan Hilferty will speak about her work; on Thursday, February 19 at 6pm, there will be a panel entitled Designing Women Set the Stage with scenic designers Heidi Ettinger, Christine Jones, Adrienne Lobel, and Anna Louizos; and on Monday, March 16 at 6pm, Thomas Schumacher will moderate the discussion Goddess of Light: Focus on Women Lighting Designers featuring Beverly Emmons and Natasha Katz.

In addition, a special film series spotlighting female designers will run Tuesdays at 2:30pm, March 3-April 28; it will include She (March 17), Billy Rose’s Diamond Horsehoe (March 24), A Streetcar Named Desire (April 1), The Great Gatsby (April 21), and The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me (April 28), among other works.
