Broadway veterans Ethan Hawke and Kristin Scott Thomas will star in the film, The Woman in the Fifth, according to a report in Variety. Pawel Pawlikowski will direct, with filming to begin next month in Paris.
Based on the book of the same name by Douglas Kennedy, the thriller follows an American in Paris who becomes involved with a widow who may be responsible for a series of murders.
Hawke is currently represented Off-Broadway by his direction of A Lie of the Mind, and received a Tony nomination for his acting work in The Coast of Utopia. Thomas won an Olivier Award for her performance in The Seagull, which she also reprised on Broadway. Both performers also have extensive film credits.
