On Thursday, November 19, pianist Anthony de Mare brings the third and final installment of his Liaisons project to Symphony Space‘s Peter Jay Sharp Theatre.

The project, titled Liaisons: Re-Imagining Sondheim from the Piano, marries de Mare's love of classical piano with his respect for revered composer Stephen Sondheim. To date, he has commissioned 36 leading contemporary composers from the classical, jazz, theater, and film worlds to write solo piano pieces inspired by Sondheim's music.

The November 19 performance will feature New York premieres by Wynton Marsalis, Andy Akiho, Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), Jherek Bischoff, and de Mare himself, among other others.

The previous two installments of Liaisons at Symphony Space took place in 2012 and 2013. The upcoming performance coincides with the release of the entire Liaisons collection as a triple-disc set on the ECM New Series label.
