
Dominic Fortuna will assume the roles of Vince Fontaine and Teen Angel in the national tour of Grease when it plays at Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre, running April 27 – May 1. He replaces Eddie Mekka.
Fortuna previously played the role of Vince Fontaine on Broadway and in the 2009-2010 tour of the musical. Among his other credits are appearances on Dick Clark’s Your Big Break and NBC’s Grease: You’re the One That I Want. In addition, he writes, creates, directs and produces his own shows for The Williamsburg Showcase Dinner Theater, in Michigan.
He joins a company that also stars Alyssa Herrera as Sandy, Matt Nolan as Danny, Patrick Cragin as Kenickie, Audrey Filson as Patty Simcox, Kelly Teal Goyette as Miss Lynch, Patrick Joyce as Sonny, Alicia Kelly as Marty, Brad Lawson as Roger, Ashley Rubin as Frenchy, Lauren Elaine Taylor as Rizzo, Lauren Turner as Jan, and Marc Winski as Doody.
Grease, with book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, and additional songs by Barry Gibb, John Farrar, Louis St. Louis and Scott Simon, has been directed by David John O’Brien and choreographed by Joyce Chittick. The creative team also includes scenic designer Derek McLane, costume designer Martin Pakledinaz and lighting designer Kenneth Posner.
