The Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of Lisa Loomer’s Distracted, at the Laura Pels Theatre, has announced a second extension, and will now close May 17. Mark Brokaw directs.

The play is a look at parenting in the age of the Internet and Ritalin. Cynthia Nixon stars as Mama, with the cast also including Peter Benson, Shana Dowdeswell, Lisa Emery, Natalie Gold, Matthew Gumley, Mimi Lieber, Aleta Mitchell, and Josh Stamberg.

The design team includes Mark Wendland (sets), Michael Krass (costumes), Jane Cox (lights), David Van Tieghem (original music & sound), and Tal Yarden (projections).

Nixon won the Tony Award for her work in Rabbit Hole. Her many New York stage credits include The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Indiscretions, The Real Thing, and Hurlyburly. She won the Emmy Award for Sex and the City and starred in the film version of the series.

Loomer’s other plays include The Waiting Room and Living Out. Brokaw previously directed the Roundabout’s productions of The Constant Wife and Suddenly Last Summer.
