Dennis Boutsikaris and John Shea to Star in Marriage & Other Odd Occurrences

Dennis Boutsikaris and John Shea will star in Marriage & Other Odd Occurrences, part of The Insights & Revelations Performance Series, at the Rosenthal JCC in Pleasantville, New York. The program will take place on Saturday, April 18, at 8:30 p.m.

This evening of short stories by Alethea Black are tied together by the theme of marriage and will feature Boutsikaris reading “The Thing Itself” and Shea reading “That Of Which We Cannot Speak.” The evening will feature a musical interlude with Jazz singer Jody Sandhaus, accompanied by Steinway Artist Pete Malinverni. Director Elliott Forrest will also moderate a discussion with the writer and actors and a champagne and dessert reception will follow.

Boutsikaris’ Broadway credits include Amadeus, Filumena, and Bent. He
received an OBIE and a Drama Desk nomination for Sight Unseen, and most recently appeared in Quality of Life at The Geffen Playhouse, for which he received an Ovation Nomination and Backstage West Garland Award. Shea won a Theater World Award for his performance in Yentl, and also appeared on Broadway in End of the World. He received a Drama Desk nomination for American Days, and won an Emmy for his performance in Baby M.
