After a Tony-winning turn on Broadway and acclaimed runs across the country, Deirdre O’Connell will make her London stage debut in Lucas Hnath’s Dana H., running at the Royal Court Theatre January 16-March 9, 2024.

Les Waters’s production will play the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Downstairs, with O’Connell reprising her turn as Dana Higginbotham. The London staging will also feature the Tony-winning sound design of Mikhail Fiksel, with further information still to be announced. The Broadway production had sets by Andrew Boyce, costume design by Janice Pytel, lighting design by Paul Toben, and illusion and lip sync consultation by Steve Cuiffo

The docudrama is adapted from interviews with playwright Hnath’s mother conducted by Steve Cosson, and follows Higginbotham’s harrowing kidnapping at the hands of a white supremacist. Dana H. has previously been seen at the Goodman Theatre, Center Theatre Group, Vineyard Theatre, and Berkeley Rep.
